Wowek Kearney


Dr. Wowek Sean Kearney is Professor of Educational Leadership in the Department of Educator and Leadership Preparation within the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. As such, he teaches coursework for aspiring campus and district administrators including principals and superintendents. Dr. Kearney has served in a variety of administrative positions including as an assistant principal in Judson ISD, as an administrative specialist at the Education Service Center, Region 20, and as interim dean of the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University-San Antonio.  He has conducted training sessions for school board members, served as a regional director for principal certification, and led consortiums of central office administrators from across Texas. He has research interests in principal influence, special education leadership, change orientations, school culture and climate, bullying, and the confluence of administration, ethics, and emotionally intelligent leadership.
