Casey Andrews

Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Iowa

B.S. in Chemistry from Grand Valley State University

Dr. Andrews is interested in understanding the biophysical properties of proteins and other biomolecules by using computational simulation. This includes creating and modify protein force fields to ensure so that results obtained through computational approaches accurately predict wet lab experiments. In the classroom, Dr. Andrews is interested in in using active learning approaches to teach general chemistry and biochemistry. There is a strong emphasis on problem solving and working together in groups to help his students better master these difficult topics.
