Francesca Maria Keith received her M.S. in Applied Mathematics from University of Texas at San Antonio. During her time at University of Texas at San Antonio, Francesca took many mathematics and statistics courses. Two of her favorite courses were Wavelets with Dr. Walter Richardson and Abstract Algebra with Dr. Gregory Wene. Francesca was also a teaching Assistant while studying mathematics at University of Texas – San Antonio.
Before becoming a student at University of Texas – San Antonio, Francesca studied Aerospace Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin where she had the great fortune of studying Fourier Analysis I & II with Clifford S. Gardner an American mathematician specializing in applied mathematics. She also studied Numerical Analysis using Fortran 77 with Dr. David Kincaid and Approximation Theory with Dr. Ward Cheney two other well-known American mathematicians.
Francesca has 22 years of experience teaching mathematics at the university level. She joined Texas A&M University – San Antonio in the summer 2017 as an adjunct faculty member and then became a Lecturer of the Mathematics department in the fall 2017. During her time at Texas A&M University – San Antonio, Francesca was the advisor of the Math Club from 2017 – 2023. She also served as the coordinator of the “We Got Your Number” competition for middle school and high school students during the Math Olympiad held every year on the first Saturday in March at Texas A&M University – San Antonio. She had the pleasure of voluteering for the Math Olympiad from 2017 - 2024.
Prior to joining Texas A&M University – San Antonio Francesca was an adjunct instructor of mathematics for Alamo Community Colleges. She taught at Northwest Vista College for 2 years and Palo Alto Community College for 13 years. She taught many of the mathematics courses they have to offer. She had the great pleasure of teaching Math 300, Math 301, Math 302, and Math 303, College Algebra, and Precalculus. Additionally, Francesca was a Teaching Assistant for University of Texas – San Antonio. She taught there for 4 years. As a T.A., Francesca taught MAT 1023 College Algebra with Applications, MAT 1073 Algebra for Scientists and Engineers, and MAT 1213 Calculus I.
A personal note of interest, Francesca is a military brat. Both of her parents served.
Francesca’s personal interest include playing classical guitar, swimming, gardening, reading, and going to the museum and plays.
