Stephanie Loalada

Stephanie Loalada, M.S. earned her BA in Anthropology and Psychology from The University of Texas-San Antonio in 1999. After staying home with her two small children for 2 years, she returned to UTSA and earned her M.S. in Psychology in 2004. Stephanie investigated the role of personality in cancer treatment decision making as her thesis project.

After graduating from UTSA, Stephanie was kept on as a lecturer (2004-2008). She then transitioned to a Psychometrician position with WorldWide Clinical Trials / Cedra Clinical Trials (2008-2010). As a Psychometrician, she worked on a number of interesting projects investigating the psychological effects of medications in clinical trials.

In 2010, Stephanie was offered an opportunity to return to UTSA as the head Research Scientist in the Cognitive Psychology Laboratory and as an adjunct faculty member. She held the Research Scientist position for over a year supervising numerous undergraduate and graduate students and multiple research projects before deciding that teaching is her true passion. She returned to a lecturer position at UTSA and also held adjunct teaching positions at Northwest Vista College and Northeast Lakeview College.

In 2011, Stephanie was offered an adjunct position with Texas A&M University-San Antonio. She was excited when the lecturer job was posted in 2012, and even more excited to interview for and then accept the position!

Stephanie is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Southwestern Psychological Association, and the Southwest Teachers of Psychology. Stephanie was the co-director (with Dr. Amy Bohmann) of the STEM Day Camp (formerly the Psychology Day Camp) which occured durring summers on the TAMU-SA campus until 2020.
