Education

Dr. Den received his doctoral and masters degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Southern California. He studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Professional Highlights

Dr. Den joined Texas A&M University-San Antonio in the fall of 2018 and has since served as the Program Coordinator for the Water Resources Science and Technology degree programs. Prior to joining A&M-SA, he was a faculty member at Tunghai University in Taiwan for 15 years. His research spans a range of water and wastewater treatment technologies, water reclamation and management, and industrial air pollution control processes. His teaching includes water and wastewater treatment, desalination technologies, and sustainable industrial water uses. Dr. Den is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Chemical Society (Environmental Chemistry division) and the American Water Works Association.

Over his academic career, Dr. Den has published about 70 peer-reviewed journal articles and presented his research works at many national and international conferences. He has advised more than 40 masters theses and six doctoral dissertations. He is active in grant writing to support research and to enrich the college experience for his students.
