Lecturer of Marketing
Biography
Camilla A. Montoya was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. Her academic journey began at Brigham Young University in Utah, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts and Design. After graduation, she taught English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese to executives in Brazil before returning to the United States to begin a career in higher education marketing.
Over the course of her career, Montoya has served as Director of Marketing at the University of Texas at Brownsville, and more recently as a marketing consultant for organizations such as the City of Austin, New Leaf Mental Health, and others.
In addition to her professional work, Montoya has dedicated the last several years to teaching university students. She has taught courses in marketing, management, research, and psychology at institutions including Texas A&M–San Antonio, St. Mary’s University, and UTRGV. She is passionate about exploring ideas, mentoring students, and helping them connect classroom learning to real-world applications.
Montoya earned a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, a Master of Business Administration, and is a trained mediator. She is the editor and co-author of an edited-volume book, and has published articles on marketing, culture, and leadership.
Beyond her professional life, Montoya enjoys traveling the world with her family.
