Isanely Kurz


Isanely Guerrero Kurz is an Assistant Professor in the Counseling Program at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. She received her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Spanish at Texas State University-San Marcos and her  M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. She completed her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Dr. Kurz enjoys research related to counseling bilingual Latinx clients, decolonizing mental health practice, and helping neurodiverse populations and their families. Dr. Kurz has received training in using EMDR and trauma-sensitive approaches. When shes not teaching or counseling, she enjoys collecting hobbies, spending time with her family, and reading high fantasy novels.
