Betty Villegas


 

Biography

Betty Jean Villegas joined the Texas A&M University-San Antonio team in January 2009. She started in the Office of Student Engagement and Success. She worked in the Office of Student Engagement until she was asked by the First President of A&M to work for Dr. Maria H. Ferrier she continued to work in the Presidents Office till March 14, 2014, when Dr. Velma Villegas asked her to come down in the College of Education and Human Developemnt to help out in the Advising Office. She then was helping out in Advising Office and with the Department of Educator Leadership and Preparation in September 2017. Then she got promoted to a newly formed department within the College of Education, Department of Curriculm and Instruction under Dr. Lorraine Webb from September 2017 until 2019. She got promoted again to a newly formed Institute for School and Community Partnership under the supervision for CEO under Dr.Henrietta Munoz in 2019 to the present. Betty Jean is a native of southside San Antonio. She has been married for over 35 years to Andrew C Villegas she has two children, Son, Nicholas A.Villegas and daugher Gabriella N Villegas who is currently a first gen attending A&M and will graduate in December 2023 with a degree in Kinesiology.
