Department of Sociology and Communication
Adjunct Faculty - Sociology
Over the past twenty years, I have taught at a number of universities and am now teaching sociology online as an adjunct for Texas A&M San Antonio and Ashland Universitys Correctional Education Program. My research focus is on US racism, black American intellectual and cultural traditions, and the sociology of elites. I am the lead author with Joe Feagin of Racial Theories in Social Science: A Systemic Racism Critique (Routledge, 2016), a book that provides a critique of the ways that mainstream social sciences have explained racial realities. A recent publication is "Antiblackness Targeting Black Women" in American Antiblackness, edited by Philip Ewell and Joe R. Feagin (Routledge, 2026).
