Carmeshia Miller


Biography:

Carmeshia Miller is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Computing and Cyber Security at Texas A&M University-San Antonio (TAMU-SA), where she has been working as an Adjunct since 2018. She received her B.S. from the University of Maryland University College in 2009, and an M.S. in Information Security/Assurance and Digital Forensics from Trident University in 2013. Prior to joining the TAMU-SA team as an adjunct, she served in the United States Army beginning in July 1994. She worked in the Information Technology and Security field for the duration of her military career. In February 2015, after more than 20 years of honorable service, she retired as a Signal Chief Warrant Officer. After retirement, she began working for the Department of Defense as a Cyber Security Engineer.

Carmeshia currently works as a Senior Cyber Security Engineer and the Cybersecurity Policy and Business Operations (CPBO) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) Program Support Team (PST) Manager with the Defense Health Agency (DHA). 

Carmeshia currently teaches Management Information Systems, pen-testing, Computer Forensics, and Information Security at TAMU-SA. Additionally, Carmeshia is a Lead Instructor at ThriveDA formerly known as HackerUSA. At ThriveDX she teaches Computer Networking, Microsoft Security, Network Security, Linux Security, and Cloud Security. Course content includes topics related to Information Security and Risk Management, Application Security, Offensive Security, Cyber Threats and Attacks, Incident Response, and Digital Forensics. Courses focus on building the skills and knowledge base to take and pass certification exams including, but not limited to CompTIA Network+, (ISC)2 SSCP, CompTIA Security +, and CCNA.

She previously taught Linux Operating Systems at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio, Texas.
