Michael Moyer, PhD, LPC-S is a professor in the Department of Counseling, Health & Kinesiology at Texas A&M University – San Antonio. He received his master’s in counseling and doctorate in counselor education and supervision from Texas A&M University– Corpus Christi. Dr. Moyer teaches a broad range of courses, however, most often enjoys teaching courses in ethics, practicum, and counseling techniques. Some of his primary research interests include ethical decision-making, non-suicidal self-injury and counselor education. Dr. Moyer has authored/co-authored over 20 professional/peer reviewed publications and delivered over 40 presentations at national, state, and local conferences. In additional to his teaching and research, Dr. Moyer supervises LPC associates and maintains a small private practice in San Antonio where he specializes in working with individuals who self-injure. Dr. Moyer is also heavily involved the Texas Counseling Association (TCA) and has been a part of TCA leadership for over 15 years. Outside of work, Dr. Moyer enjoys exercising, playing golf, and spending time with his wife and three children.
