Biography

I have worked in many schools throughout the years in many different roles.  By far, my favorite role is the one I started with, that of the classroom teacher.  I was fortunate to have been the student who always loved school and had amazing teachers along the way to make sure I learned to the best of my ability.

My career began in Dallas ISD where I taught 4th grade at Daniel Webster Elementary for 4 years.  While in Dallas, I attended graduate school at The University of North Texas in Denton.  At that time, I had dreams of being an administrator as I felt that was where I could impact students at a higher level.  I moved to San Antonio in 1996 and began teaching at Howsman Elementary in NISD.  I taught 3rd grade and had an amazing mentor as my principal, Cindy Luna.  These 4 years provided an opportunity to become a campus leader and experience change at a very real level.  I then ventured into administration in NISD and found I felt my impact was diminished.

My next professional move was into consulting.  While I loved this, I missed the day to day interactions with students and the family I was able to create in my classroom.  I returned to the classroom in 2016 at Holy Spirit Catholic School in the Archdiocese of San Antonio.  I absolutely loved being back in the classroom and built relationships with students and families that will last a lifetime.  I was then called to serve as the Associate Superintendent of Academics for the Archdiocese and filled that role for 4 years.

The next professional step leads us to today at Texas A&M San Antonio. I worked with the Educator Preparation Program (Educator CAFE) for 1 year and then moved to the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.  In addition, I serve as the Head of School for St. George Episcopal School. Teaching at the college level and working on a campus simultaneously is an absolute dream and I am loving every minute of it!
