Sonya Barrera Eddy (she/her/ella)


Dr. Eddy was born in San Antonio and raised in Arizona. She is fifth generation Tejana and a first-generation college graduate.  She earned her Ph.D. in English at the University of Texas at San Antonio, an MA in Creative Writing/Writing from Our Lady of the Lake University, and a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Arizona. Her work centers around the intersection of art, rhetoric, and writing with a focus on how marginalized communities employ art and community education in deliberative contexts.
