Summary Profile

I am a Communication Professor and Faculty Development Coach. My mission is to teach, coach and empower students and faculty by creating professional development opportunities that foster individual growth and success. 

Current Roles: 

Director Role:  I have 17 years’ experience in undergraduate media instruction, experiential learning, and career preparation in news, magazine, and broadcast. I created the Jaguar Student Media Network in 2009, the universitys experiential learning and career preparation program for journalism and media students

Teaching and Learning Role: I serve as the Faculty Success Coach for the Center for Academic Innovation. I support the Center’s emphasis and value on Faculty Wellness initiatives.

  • 2022 HERS Higher Educational Leadership Services Fellow
  • 2019 Faculty Champion, Mays Center for Experiential Learning and Community Engagement 
  • 2015 Clarion Award for Curriculum Design, Association for Women in Communications (AWC), for creation and implementation of undergraduate broadcast courses in collaboration with KWEX Univision 41, resulting in the Emmy-award winning student-driven news project, Proyecto U.
  • 2010 Faculty Excellence Award in Service
